Last night our community band played with the Marine band from New Orleans. It was much more fun than I expected. : )
We ran our system for them and they took a feed off to record everything. So…they said they’d send us the audio after they had mastered it. : ) We also are going to get the dvd from the local tv station.
The weather was really iffy and it started raining a little before we started.
Dad brought a tent to put the mixer under, which was a life saver. While it was raining Bonnie and I ran (literally) across the street to buy garbage bags to put over the speakers. Twas’ interesting! Thankfully, it didn’t rain too much and the concert was able to start! We had an estimate of 800 people in attendance.
The Marines waiting to go on…
See that Marine mixed in with us? He was our first chair clarinet until he left for BT. They let him play with us. : )
It was so neat to hear the 'real' band play…
They were IMPRESSIVE! It was inspiring. : )
We did two combined numbers with them before the lightening show started. They wisely decided to let everyone go home. ; )
A fun concert we shall not soon forget! :)
