Oh good! Taxes are all done and life is stress free again. HAHA! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I've learned to keep better records and I didn't have any new forms to fill out - all stuff I've done before. I was listening to the radio and they were saying it takes the average person 27 hours to fill in all the paper work that comes with tax time. Wow...didn't take me that long. I guess I'm not average. ;)

Here is a picture of the most recent quilt I did. Very simple and plain but I thought it turned out good.

By popular request I’m going to blog again!

Well, every spring I get some sort of blisters on my feet. They get so soft after a winter in boots and sneakers. So, when I wear sandals for the first time I pay....usually the blisters pop and get better without much attention. This time.... I got a ridiculous infection with a red spot the diameter of a tennis ball on my ankle! It scared me for a while...I’m better now and going to be much careful next time. No one really gave me any sympathy anyway...since it was my fault.

OK...what else is new? The weather has turned mild, 60 today. Simply beautiful. We got a ton of rain and the rivers and cricks (as they say down south) are all filled up and running strong. Maple syrup season is over now....summer doesn’t seem like a far off dream anymore!

Bonnie and I visited out our favorite bluelight store day before yesterday. She got to drive there and I drove home. Little strange since I’ve never driven in the car, or any car. I’ve been using the van, a much bigger beast. I think I like the van better, I’m up higher and feel superior to all the other drivers. Haha, not really....I’m just use to the van. Anyway, Bonnie picked three pretty blue prints for the quilt she’s working on. I bought a charcoal colored polyester blend with pinstripes and sheer red fabric to use as a swag for my room. Speaking of my room....I finding myself torn between themes. One wall has a bold red color with gold accents, it looks like India. I just finished painting a different wall
‘Brazilian Tan’ and it has a modern look with black accents, almost reminds me of the
20’s. My dad commented you can change the look of my room by sitting in a different
spot. I can remember some terrible idea I had one time to sponge red over my white trim. *GAG* That wasn’t a good idea. I keep thinking of that movie, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, and how the downstairs of the mansion was all red. One of the characters in the movie comment it looked like the ‘reign of terror’. On time I cover my walls with silver contact paper, it was like chrome - I’ve never seen a room decorated like that.

I’ve been working on cd covers and designs for our project. There are so many variables on a cd cover/insert! What kind of font and how big, to include lyrics or not, which colors, how many colors, are those colors going to clash, how many pages should the insert be, and the MOST important; what are we gonna call it?? Dad said it’s like naming a kid, so we’re taking our time. We thought we’d wrap up naming this cd this week, it looks like it could take till next week to finally settle on something. We came up with what I thought was brilliant and then Bonnie added something to one of the top contenders and it’s in first place right now. I’ll just be happy when it’s over! We need to get a decent photo, preferably when it’s green outdoors and send it off to the graphic design lady with all our other ideas. The picture we took for the local paper really turned out nice...I used the camera I bought at Wal-Mart last December. I can’t believe it’s gone down so much in
price since then.

Till I decide to blog again ....

(You never know, I might blog twice this month!) ;)

I find myself apologizing again for being a poor blogger! Life is busy.

We’re back from the Florida Tour! I really enjoy being out on the road but home is a special place and there is ‘no place like home’. But actually now that I’m thinking about it, what is home? A house? The people? The bus is getting very familiar and the people on the bus haven’t changed except for the occasional visitor. So the bus is home away from home. Actually, I’m just a passin’ through this world, my real home is in heaven. I so enjoyed having my room back and having a larger selection of clothing and shoes to choose from! It seems I ruin all the clothing I bring on trips. Really too bad, I’m learning to pack things I won’t mind seeing destroyed. I really tried to pack light for this trip. My siblings were not impressed. *sigh* I tried... really! The clothing probably seems to be closing in on me like a monster. I was complaining to Bonnie how I have clean out and she looked around he room and said it wasn’t that bad. Then she looked in the closet. She screamed. I need to get rid of stuff. I got rid of a pair of black heels the other day and I felt so good about it! I had worn these things for years and they were my favorites but I have no reason to keep them since I already have several replacements.

Back to the Florida Trip .....the weather was lovely for the most part. I think Florida could have been warmer. But, hey it was January! We got some nice 70’s in southern part of FL. It probably was a good thing the weather wasn’t extremely warm. Our generator broke twice (!) on this trip, meaning no AC! Same part went bad each time, it’s still not working. We met a lot of wonderful people and made new friends at churches and nursing homes.

We spent a week and a day in Alabama with friends. Friends who play bluegrass and ride motorcycles. Though, not at the same time. : ) We had a wonderful time there despite the fact our bus sunk 8 inches into the mud in the driveway! We thought if we didn’t get it out they could have it for a lawn ornament. They didn’t seem to mind the idea. With the Lord’s help and hours of digging we were able to extract the bus from the miry pit and set it on solid ground. We had two rousing games of capture the flag in the woods, one in camo! I’ve been told camo doesn’t look good on me, but it sure beats pink when it’s a life or death game. ; ) My team lost both times. Ah well... yours truly was air hockey queen. : ) Haha... that had to be freak accident. We were able to do several joint concerts with the Godin Family, lots of fun and some great ministry times. It’s amazing to me how many churches had such great food afterward. Nothing like southern cooking.

We visited one more church on the way back home in North Carolina. What a blessing it was to visit First Assembly of Concord. The Mexican food was great! We were taken out to Pizza Hut by the Matson family for a time of food and fellowship afterwards.
Thanks guys!

Praise God for His provision!

Till next time...

Boy, it's been a while since I've checked in. Late Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
The concert with the choir went fine, at the last minute I volunteered to sing a duet with the soloist. She was having a little trouble. I don't blame her, the song was difficult. Even with both of us singing together we still messed up! But no one but the people who knew the song noticed (I hope).

I guess it's still possible to get shaky up on stage no mater how many times you've sung something! I sang on Sunday morning (Oh Holy Night) and I was a bundle of nerves. I had to switch hands with the mic because I was shaking so badly. I really thought I flubbed the whole song but everyone I talked to loved it (the singing not the shaking). Go figure.

We saw this really interesting film on tv last night. It was a series of half an hour clips about channeling, false teachers, the catholic church uniting religions, evolution and its ties to communism/Hitler. (We saw one of our favorite Creationist, Dr. Kent Hovind!) Evolution tells us some people are higher (or 'more evolved') beings than other people. So killing another race you believe is lower is not wrong in the eyes of the evolutionists. We believe that God made all men equal! So in essence evolution is the reason we have racism.
